Hello, I'm Dorothy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, explore, and  imagine what your life might be.

 I am grateful you're here.

Sharing our personal stories connects us, helps us understand one another, and can lead to discoveries about ourselves. Humans have told stories for tens of thousands of years to preserve culture and history, as well as share lived experiences. I share a bit of my journey, as you're entrusting me with part of yours.

How Change With Purpose formed

I founded Change With Purpose* to help parents connect with themselves, uncover their own purpose, and make and sustain desired changes so they can live with greater meaning and satisfaction for the rest of their lives.

Why parents? Parents often feel disconnected from their true selves amidst busy lives. Disconnection like this affects everyone and everything. I know from personal experience and many parent friends, and even strangers, have shared similar challenges.

Anchoring in our unique, individual purpose – beyond the roles / identities we have – empowers us to live more fully, which has a ripple effect on our families, work, communities, and more.

Change with Purpose sprouted from over three decades of personal and professional experiences in school (college and graduate school), business, and the arts. Yet the journey is far from linear. I arrived here after years of internally battling between my right and left brain, as well as struggling to balance wanting to be a creative, artistic professional and the pull of stability and security.

A bit of backstory: From age five forward, I juggled an innate desire to be an actress with my practical, risk-averse side. While I have enjoyed some professional successes in my acting journey, most years the logical, businesslike part of me dominated. This left me hovering in the liminal, or in-between, space and feeling ungrounded and unfulfilled despite "external successes."

Being a parent has been the most joyous, intense, nerve-wracking, funny, humbling, challenging, rewarding, love- and awe-filled experience of my life. But simultaneous with becoming a parent, my own desires and sense of identity and purpose became even more buried. I often felt disconnected from myself and, as a result, others – even while savoring parenthood with my husband as we embraced our life with two children (now elementary school ages) whom we love deeply.

The breakthrough: Thankfully, my inner self gradually spoke up. She poked and prodded me to help me uncover my own truth and desires. While I've always been intuitive, my consciousness of intuition and how to develop and use it sprang to life over the past several years. Significant shifts in 2020 accelerated my journey towards discovering my purpose, crafting the life I want, and living with more presence, joy, intention, and alignment.

I have not looked back. Every day I practice gratitude that I finally "woke up" and found the courage to embrace all parts of me, to stand for who I am, and to actively create the life I want. And, with trust, compassion, and love... to help others do the same.

Why parents can trust me on their journey back to self

I help parents not only reconnect with themselves and discover their personal purpose, but also translate that into lasting change and meaningful living day-to-day.

Practical education and work foundation: With a BA in economics and an MBA helping me land various jobs, my background in executive facilitation, change management, business development, product development, and marketing provides my customers and clients with a strategic and tactical "get it done" approach. Most recently, I was the Chief Customer Officer for a consulting firm with which I spent 11 years. I helped 100s of leaders and teams at Fortune 500 companies define their vision, set priorities, and create and implement the plans to make the changes they desired. I share what I've learned from years of creating and facilitating dozens of multi-day workshops at huge corporations and non-profits, with a variety of frameworks and tools that enable change that sticks.

Intuitive and creative core: At the same time, I lean into my true nature. The creative and intuitive elements of life have been by my side since the earliest days and have shown up to help guide me as a professional actor, a storyteller and listener, as well an aspiring painter (watercolor!). This core brings the needed intuitive, reflective, and visionary elements that provide a counterbalance to the linear, logical programming that override many of us. I have also spent years researching purpose and change, while continuing to develop my own intuition and practices (which evolve regularly).

My dream is for Change With Purpose to help people access and use their intuition and engage in a community that exists to help parents reclaim their true selves, uncover their personal purpose, and live with unbounded joy and meaning.

Empowering parents to live more presently, purposefully, and joyfully fuels me. I want to help you find the path to fuel your own purpose, dreams, and life.
